Wet Barbeque

Today, it's a continuation of yesterday's sleepover!

I left Azim's place with a ride from Pawan's mom at 2pm.
My mom was leaving for India on a business trip within 3 hours.
So when I got home, spruced myself up, and headed for
Universiti Malaya where my dad works to pick him up so we could all go as a family to see my mom off.

As we were heading there, a thunderstorm broke. It was pretty heavy. Then we reached my dad's workplace, picked him up and headed our way.

At first, the plan was just to see my mom off at
KL Central where she could take the shuttle to KLIA. But unfortunately, that was impossible. Why?

KL
+
Heavy Rain
=

FYI: That's not a Jetski, it's a motorcycle.

The roads on KL side were completely submerged with disgusting sewage water!

So road access was completely inaccessible so we doubled-back and just decided to directly go to KLIA.

So when we were there, helped my mom checked in. Then I saw my mom off to board her plane.

Okay, just kidding. My mom's plane only took flight at 8pm so me and the rest of the family couldn't just loaf around at the airport all day! So after exchanging
X's and O's with mummy, we leave the airport for home.

***

The moment I reached home, I had to get ready for the barbeque I was to attend that night. Fir came waltzing in to my place shortly. Then my dad help give us a lift back to Azim's
again where Ayesha, my old friend was to fetch us and Nabeel to Syakirah's barbeque at her house.

The journey to FIND Kira's house felt like something out of
The Amazing Race. It was impossible! Have any of you ever experienced the feeling where you're looking for some place or something and you find every OTHER place except the place you're actualy looking for?! Well that happened tonight! We found the housing area of A and C but where the hell was B!?

So after what seemed like hours in the car, finally, we reach. Just as the clock struck 9. The beginning of the bbq was pretty awkward. Me, never having met Kira in person before, just sed hello. We awkwardly started waddling like penguins along the front porch of her house toward the barbeque. We helped ourselves to some food. Then just duduk and.. well. nothing. It was seriously the most
awkward party I ever been to. Guy's one one side, doing absolutely NOTHING. And girls on the other, watching TV.

An hour into the party, only did things start to warm up. With the introduction of a pack of cards.. and the ban of watching TV, all the fellow guests started to clump closer together. We played Western Hold'em Poker.. with no bets. Then Black Jack. Also with no bets. Then I raise the stakes by betting Nabeels
Pride.

After that we started playing UNO stacko.

Soon, the stack went
Timber. And like any other party, what else was there to do after games but.. gossips! So here come people from both SMSJ and Seafield sharing skool gossips among each other.

It trailed off into the night. Then the others started playing Tekken 5 which no offence, I find absolutely boring. Then, what party isn't complete without a group photo?

Alas! Syakirah's bro isnt a very experienced photographer. So that was pretty much all the guests.

Shortly after playing bottle spin, our respective parents came to pick us up. But Me, Mukri, Nabeel and Fir squeezed into Ayesha's Waja to get home. So it was pretty cramped. AND it sorta got kinda gay in there.

Then Ayesha's dad dropped me off at home. And with that, the day concluded!

Our Youngest Fifteen Year Old

Today, was the 23rd of December. Which would mean Pravin's Birthday!

I awoke with a start after my cellphone violently vibrated and wailed as the alarm i set the previous night went off. The clocks hands indicated that it was 8.20 a.m. As I glanced out the window, the warm morning sunlight was pleasant to the touch and I was somehow grateful and sat there on my bed appreciating the warmth since it's been awhile since I last woke up together with the sun.

Pawan, Razlan, Azim, Nabeel, the birthday boy himself and I, were going to celebrate at
Sunway Pyramid and were all scheduled to meet up at Azim's place at 8.30am. Seeing that I only had 10 minutes to spare, I instantly stripped away all manor of clothing and dashed for the bathroom.

After that was done, I left my dwelling and walked to Pawan's.

Around the corner of the alley, I could already glimpse Pravin and Razlan sitting on Pawan's white garden bench situated in Pawan's front yard. That very bench was broken a couple of years back, coincidently, by the current occupants.. well just one of them actually. Pravin.

So I walk pass the gates and soon see Pawan. We all exchange greetings and soon leave together in the direction of Azim's Place. After a few minutes' walk filled with endless chatter, we finally reach Azim's. But guess what? He wasn't even there. He was at his aunt's house and was actually joining us at pyramid. Thus we turn around and head for the bus stop.

We wait 10 minutes or so for Jade who was taking a bus which would also stop at our stop, to pyramid. But when we gave her a call, her bus driver was taking lunch or something.. so we had to wait ANOTHER 10 minutes.

Soon finally the
Rapid KL bus arrives, along with Jade inside it. And we were finally off. During the bus ride, I tasted some of the brownies Jade gave pravin which were absolutely MOUTHWATERING! yumm~

As we arrived at the lionhead entrance, Jianwai called me up badgering about how late we were. Pawan and Pravin headed for
redbox, cuz we wanted to book early while Razlan and I fetch Jian Wai from his lonesome haunt at starbucks. We meet up again at RedBox. And while the two were busy getting a booth, I tie my shoelaces. And when I look up, guess who shows up right out of the blue? Sue Anne! Ahah, I was mildy surprised at her wardrobe. It looked somewhat like she just wrapped a towel around herself.

We were to check in our karaoke booth at 12 o'clock sharp. So we had about three quarters of an hour left. So what else to do.. but scout around for something to stuff our stomachs.. and it had to be vegetarian. Because of Pravin.

So we walked around the new wing.
J.Co's was PACKED as usual. We didn't really ahve the time to spare. SO we looked beside it, which was Pancake House. Mahal gila just for pancakes. So we thought, not worth it. So guess where we actually went??? Poor old Dunkin's Donuts. Whilst there, munching away on donuts and pretzels, Azim and Nabeel appear. So we exchanged somewhat... odd greetings with the both of them. Azim being the very anti-social, and Nabeel.. who I haven'0t met in person in two years.

Soon the time for showing off our vocals came five minutes after that, and we headed back to
RedBox. We got into booth number 9.

The hallway leading down to our booth.

When we got in, the place looked rather nice. Nice comfy looking sofa's propped up against the walls and a large flat screen on the opposite wall. So we just went ahead and made ourselves comfortable and plopped unto the sofa!

Soon, we just went ahead and sang away! It was really fun. Best karaoke I ever been to. Had a duet with Pravin singing
Hollaback Girl and we just nyanyi asal belasah. Andthere were a bunch of assorted songs we sang. Sue Anne didn't sing though... emo as she was, my countless persuasions of "singing helps" didn't make her budge. So for THREE long hours, we were croaking away! In between, there was a lunch break of course, it came along with the room rental. A free meal of Chicken Chops.

***

When the clock struck 3, we had nothing else to do cuz our time was up, so we just got up and paid and left. Pawan, Me, and Razlan were secretly planning on getting him a cake. So the both of them, excluding me, went to Secret Recipe to get it, while my job was to divert Pravin away and make him oblivious to it. And Pravin being who he is, was completely unawares what Pawan and Razlan were off to do when they told him Pawan wanted to repair his camera and Razlan, saying he wanted to buy school clothes.

In that time, I had to maneuver the crowd to pass the time. We went around to well.. around and around the new wing. From Mark's and Spencer's to British India and all the way to Harvey Normans. Stopped at
Jusco cuz i saw a really neat shirt i liked. Jian Wai and I both went to try some shirts on. Same design but different in pattern. It was really good value too! But i was ONE buck short.. So i didn't get it. Then Jian Wai's mom called and said she was already waiting for him at the entrance to pick him up. (What the hell? gila awal!) So I follow him to the entrance, and since I was seperated from Pravin and the rest, I decide to abandon my duty and just head for Secret Recipe where Pawan and Razlan were. There, the two of them were just loafing around whilst waitingf or the cake to be prepared.

When it was done, it was time to get the birthday boy to the scene! So I call up Sue Anne and tell her to bring them to where us three were at. Thus.. Sue Anne being who she is, took her sweet time in getting there. In the meantime, Pawan, being genius he is, lit the candles on the 6 candled cake, one bigger than the rest, expecting Pravin to be there in
shortly. I on the other hand was walking to and from in front of Secret Recipe like some idiot to surprise Pravin and lead him to the cake cuz Sue Anne was supposed to just make them coincidentally pass by.

After what felt like a
decade, finally I see them approaching. So i come and confront them by accident blaming them on how they just ditched me at Jusco. Then Azim went to get a Beard Papa's cream puff and so did Pravin. FINALLY after that I literally pushed Pravin to his cake.. which.. by then. was smothered with wax thanks to their pace of getting there which matched a snails.

So what we did was ask for another set of candles. And borrowed a lighter from one of the abang pekerja. And set at the table. Pravin in the middle, and seven others.
Me helping out to light the candles.

When all was set, we took deep breaths, put on party hats Pawan bought for all of us, and started singing like thus:

As you can see, Pravin was very shy on cutting his cake. So well, I intervened and cut
generous helpings of Chocolate Indulgence for everyone! Phewh... didn't everyone stuff their faces with cake then. When I finished dividing them unequally among the guests.. THIS was how the cake ended up looking like:

Inscribed on the cake WERE words saying "Our Fifteen Year Old Pravin"

Time was passed with endless chatter while others stuffed their faces with cake.

Even the two girls!

Then when no more could be eaten, we requested the worker to help da pao the cake for Pravin.

Soon, if you happened to be there at the time, you would be able to see a bunch of full bellied teenagers wearing party hats prancing about the mall. We passed by
Giant on the way to the escalator. Here, where was a team of promoters and their merchandise:
Happy cellphone sim cards. Their deals, were pretty good! 1sen/second. 10 sen/sms. No 3g. THAT seemed pretty sucky. BUT! One call never exceeds 99sen. And one call could go long for as long as 45 minutes. Which means you could pretty much talk for 45 minutes nonstop for only ONE RINGGIT!

And guess what? We ALL bought them! Only 5 bucks a pack! So the 9 of us all got ourselves new
Happy numbers!

After that, we felt like we should commerate this act of pure randomness. So i suggest we take a pic of ourselves holding the
Happy's at Harvey Normans. Alas, when we were there... a bunch of teenagers at a furniture shop DOES attract suspicion. So we kena halau. So what else was there to do but go home. The day was major fun already. On the way out, me and Pawan stumbled upon this stuffed animal mimic bag. And it looks EXACTLY like Pawan's cat Tootie!

***

So anyway, we continue our journey to the exit. Azim and Nabeel detach because they were going back via Nabeel's mom. Us on the other hand, were taking the bus. While waiting for the bus to come, we got shutter happy and finally got our pic with our new Happy's!

Raz, Paw, Prav, Me & Sue
Happy'd

Oddly enough, SueAnne looks like she's wearing her birthday suit in the pic above.
We waited really long for a bus because somehow.. we preferred Rapid KL buses. But it started getting late. So we had no choice, but to board a Minibus!

Cheap: Yes
Cramped: Also Yes

The sun had set by the time we reached Summit Bus Stop. Pawan and Pravin rushed along in fear of being late and pissing of their parents. Razlan soon sped up and caught up with them. Me, not having the need to hurry, and feeling the guilt of just leaving Sue who was walking home with us to walk all the way home, alone just went at a comfortable pace. Besides, our homes were very nearby each others' so we just took a stroll in the dusk. Our endless chatter was very good company amongst the dark deserted streets of USJ2. Finally we both reach Sue's house, bade our goodbyes, then I ran off for home, cuz the party wasn't over for us guys yet! We had a Sleepover to get to!

***

At 10.30pm i leave my home once again for Azim's place again today. This time I was actually entering the house. So when I got up to Azim's bedroom, which was the whole 2nd storey of his house, Nabeel, Pawan, Razlan, and Pravin were already there. And for the rest of the night.. you could pretty much guess that a Sleepover has hardly anything to do with sleep! We watched a midnight movie; Saw IV that night. Bloody hell violent! Its a good movie though.

The night continues on with sounds of thumps and bumps and cackles of laughter from me and moans from Pravin. After doing alot of random stuff, I give in to the fight between me and the sandman.. and I fell asleep.

Good Night, Dairys..

First Comes Cow

Then comes Me.

Well what happened today. Pretty much gory and disgusting.

CAUTION!
Don't be watching the vids that i posted for this post if you have a soft spot for cows and/or have a weak stomach.

I headed to the mosque with Razlan. We headed to Pawan's house so wecould walk together.. and as I somehow expected, he was completely oblivious that today was even Hari Raya. We were running late, and seeing that Pawan wasn't even ready, we left him.

After the prayers, we headed to the clearing behind the Mosque. There were about 13 cows and 1 sheep tied up to a tree. All soon to meet their fate.

So well there really wasn't much to say. Me, Pawan, Ariff, and Afiq just stood there while the bigger men were at work. . Razlan went home early to leave for penang. At some point I accidently stepped on cow droppings. So anyway, As they were trying to tie up the poor cow, this happened:

Well soon after they did succesfuly tie the cow down. When it was time, we gathered around.. too see the slaughter. Yeah, the cow didn't put up a fight... it was as if he knew what was coming and accepted it whole heartedly. Its okay for the cows who get slaughtered today. It's the muslims belief that they go to heaven. Then it was time. Good night Mr.Cow.

Pretty sad looking at him none the less. So after then, the day was hot, so we decided to lepak at Ariff's house. A few hours go by, then I go home. Well. pretty much nothing else to the day. Oh, and I watched How To Eat Fried Worms. A some what gross ending to a revolting day.

Bullzye

Greetings yet again.

Today, I went to Sunway Pyramid, yet again, for the umpteenth time. With some friends.

If only I could go to some other malls huh? I haven't even been to OU. Or Time's Square. OR Midvalley.

.....Prologue.....

So continuing on, my day starts of with a kick start by a phone call from Pawan. He ajak's me to go skate with him. Reluctantly I slink outta bed, brush my teeth, put on some outdoor clothes and I was off. (Yeah, I didn't bathe. If you're just gonna sweat a whole lot and get dirty and smell which means a shower all over again, what's the point?)

After the regular falls and aches and bruises of skating, Pawan, Ariff and I decide to just sit and rest. It wasDuring that time, we saw this Red Honda Jazz drive by. Whose was it? Afiq. Ariff gave him a call, saying "Pegi sunway tak ajak woo.. macam ni kawan!"

I of course.. having planned the outing with Sofia the previous day knew we were to go out. But i didn't know they were going THAT early, at 1 o'clock. Okay, maybe it just seemed early cuz I was only awake for 30 minutes of the day.

So I bade my goodbye's to Pawan and Ariff. Pawan leaving for add maths tuition.. (already?!) and Ariff, I'd be seeing him later at Pyramid. Hastily, rushing to Razlan's house, deck in hand, I ring his doorbell. There's this bespectacled chinese dude talking to his mom inside, neighbour perhaps. Razlan's mom opens the gate for me, i walk to the door across the porch. Suddenly guy starts being friendly with me.. saying something to me which at the moment i found inaudible and started ruffling my hair! I return it with a quizzical smile, and a bow (?) and i greeted Razlan's mom and went inside. Raz came down shortly, and already dressed. He, thinking I was supposedly ready too, saw me, still sweaty and smelly.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"Pyramid, doncha know?" He replies.

"No."

"Really now? Fir said you knew."

Pfft, of course i knew. Just not the time!

So I rush home, to get ready to go. Razlan was leaving in 5 minutes, and I have to honestly say; Damn myself for relying too much on Razlan for transportation.
It took me about 20 minutes to get ready. When I was finally out the door, I gave a ring to Raz in hopes he would still give me a ride. After all, he could fetch Firdaus from all the way in USJ9, why not me who's practically his neighbour!

Alas, he being the
good friend he is, damned me to using public transportation. So with no other choice I head east from my home, towards Summit's Bus Station. Some way along the way, Ariff calls me! offers me a ride! Yeay! My fats are saved! So I hop into his Volvo and we're off to Sunway Pyramids!

.....At Pyramid......

Me and Ariff stepped through the new wing's entrance threshold, greeted by the wafting aroma of coffee beans from Starbucks. Gave Sofia a ring asking her to meet us at J.Co's Doughnuts.. cuz it just seemed right. The line was long as usual, but not as straight as I usually saw it. Sofia came along in a few minutes. A few steps in the direction of the old wing, we bumped into Sue Anne. Had a chat, complimented each other, then we went out separate ways. Us to meet Raz and Fir, she to meet Fatin Raziman. Sofia said Raz and Fir were at The Chicken Rice Shop, so we headed there. We met up in time to see empty plates and vacant expressions on both of their faces.

After the main party finally got together, we started our say routine of pyramid; Walk about, indecisive of a destination, walk a bit more. Stop, stand in a somewhat circle, and talk of where to go. I was hungry, and not wanting to sit down and eat right after Razlan and Fir just had their meal, I decided to just stop by that Wrapz and get one. Wait, or was it Flip? Ahh I remember, their current name was Hot & Roll. Ariff got one for himself too.

Soon, the 5 of us head over to the cinema because Qasseim, Afiq and his so-called girlfriend were there. We bunched up together after rendezvousing with them and talked. Some of us wanting to watch a movie , some wanting to just hang out. Anyway, one of the girls with Afiq were rather plump, and when she walked through the ticketing check, the worker who was following her with his gaze said "Gila Kentang!"

In the end we did the latter and separated once more.

We went arcading. A few races and a few lives and money were wasted there.

Soon, we headed for the bowling alley, cuz we haven't bowled in ages. But on the way, where Anime Tech used to be, now stood a new lot. An Archery gallery! So we all just diverted gaze from boring old bowling and went for archery. All together, 5 people = RM 65. Not bad actually.

Sof with an arrow thru her head.

Fir looking like a Sagittarius

Your BabyFace cupid.

Ariff, the one with the best eyes.

Every 10 minutes or so, the workers would suddenly blow a whistle! "Phreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!" Fir terkejut when they did that most of the time.

After we finished, arms aching and all.. we just decided to check out the bowling alley. Whaddya know? there's a tournament. So we couldn't go bowling anyway. So anyway, after that we met up with Afiq, Qasseim and their three friends at..... J'Co.s Doughnuts. Hmm... maybe that's why it's so laku... seemed like a good place for friends to meet up. They were of course, very quick to get there.. so I had the gang walking around that area of pyramid lookinf for a nice comfortable couch. We ended up just sitting down at a shoe shop. Finally they reach, we head down. We meet up with them with pleasant smiles. Then Fir went and waved the little kiddies taking the choo choo train ride in the Blue Atrium. One girl even waved back!

We meet up, say out goodbye's to Afiq's girlfriends, then debate for a place to get a drink. McD's or A&W. After a 17 minute long debate. We decided McD's. After getting to McD's the line were just an eyesore! Hence, A&W it is. The only thing i eat at A&W were their waffles and unfortunately, they were all out. So all I had was a rootbeer float.

After some cold beer down our throats, we went shopping for clothes cuz fir and Afiq both were looking to update their wardrobe. We went to
Extreme where Afiq bouught 2 shirts for Rm50. But around the time he was selecting those shirts.. what did the rest of us do????

Well me and ariff went into a fitting room together. Ariff took of his shirt and started flexing his
muscles in the mirror,

then..

Fir came into the fitting room with a "
GAAARGHH!"

Ariff yelped and held his shirt to his chest like a girl caught taking a shower! LoL xD

Then.. yeah, what else was there to do but....

Afiq got his shirts picked out soon after that incident. Then we headed to
SUB for Fir's shirt. It was a bundle sale, just like afiq's shirt. 50% off. Sofia helped him pick out some shirts while Ariff, Afiq, Razlan, and I just sat on a banch opposite the store cuz for some unknown reason.... the place just smelled like.. Vomit mixed with Butter Popcorn. Yucko!

After that, Afiq and Ariff detached from us to head home. Then it was just the four of us left. We then just wandered around. We went into Padini Concept Store to look for more clothes for Fir. Some decent stuff there, but none to Fir's liking. And I myself was reluctant to stay there for long. I'll tell you why.

I bought the shirt I was wearing, there, that's why.

Thus we exit, and wander aimlessly for more clothing stores. Next we found ourselves in Billabong. Seems small from the outside. but once you step inside, its pretty big. Fir bought a kid's shirt which could fit him there for Rm10! Then we wandered deeper in, and found a sunglasses stand!
Trio

Duo

Uno

Then we delve deeper into the store, and found this cute little place painted nice and bright. It was a TV room for kids! Never seeing such a place before, we all start to get hyper.. and watch Tom and Jerry!

So after the show got boring, we left the store. Fir joyful with his kiddy shirt. It was a nice shirt mind you. Alas, it was Sofia's time to go. So it was just us 3 now.

We headed to Bread Story cuz I wanted a bun to munch.

"Jug Jug Juggly Juggly Jug Jug~"

After getting my buns, we scouted for a place to sit.. and who do we bump into... but Sue Anne! She seemed pretty pityful. Walking all alone in pyramid bieng ditched by her boy... holding pantyhose which which she mistakenly bought two sizes too small. We sit down together, drink her drink together. Then she had to meet her daddy at.. J.Co's! So we decide.. it's running late. So lets just teman her to there and heade home ourselves. Thus we did. Took a T523 rapid kl to summit. Silence followed the rest of the journey home.

Clothes, Computers and Doughnuts!

Hello again.

Okay, so as you well know, it's December. The festive season where people shop till they drop because of rock bottom discounts. And by people i mean my family.

So today, was a not so routine day. My momma, ajak pergi shopping at Pyramid.. which has NEVER happened before. So here I am on a cozy warm Sunday afternoon wrapped up in my blankets. I've somehow become nocturnal over these past few weeks. So now i spring right outta bed to make history: Go to Sunway Pyramid with my family!

*brush brush brush*

*scrub scrub scrub*

A short shower and we were off!

Our goal of the day, was actually to purchase a new handbag for mommy dearest. But like almost all spontaneous plans my family makes... they never happen.

Oh, and guess what? Mr. Lion Head had a facial today.

So we went browsing for a new computer instead! My last computer which I had for...... 6 years or so, went Kuh-Pooph! in that recent freak thunderstorm. So it was high time we bought a new one :D

After negotiating discounts and what not, we decide, hmm.. maybe there are other better deals elsewhere. So we beredar from Harvey Normans tech centre and go look the previously mentioned handbag. But instead, we stop on the way at Padini Concept Store. There.. bahh. I didn't shopping with family could be that much fun... cuz when i was a kid.. all I did was laze around at home.. But now! i realized the best part of it.. everythings free! So yeah.. my fingers started to itch in temptation and i startede grabbing stuff off the rack. Miraculous thing was.. ALL the workers were REALLY friendly! And you know me, go into a changing room.. what I like to do... Big mirror.. camera at the ready..
When camwhorin' goes wrong.

So after all that, my sisters tumy went rather rumbly.. so we headed for.. the all famous J.CO's Donuts!
If you didn't realize, the logo is of a Peacock.

Seriously man, I mean before today I have never tasted them and had noooooo idea what all the craze was about.. I mean, check out the line! Was it worth THAT wait??

Curiosity killed the cat.. But not humans. So me and my sis joined the line!

Of course, the authorities want their share of donuts!

Hmm, i wonder what was on the menu??

Somehow, J.Co's logo just seems to greatly resemble starbucks to me. And Seeing that much of a line, really made me wonder.. how were things at old Dunkin' D's with this place hogging the crowd?

Completely and Utterly Deserted!

So after buying a dozen donuts for about 20 bucks, we headed home. With no handbag.. and as for the PC, we thought other palces ahd better deals.

As of which we realized soon after arriving home, we were wrong. So lepak lepak at home for a few mins.. then we were off to pyramid again!

On the way, the road opposide the lioneahead.. something out of the ordinary happened.. This stupid truck with a cargo of bunch of plastic bags filled with god knows what.. started to dump its cargo all over the road!

Truck with plastic bags.

With all these foreign bags scattered all over the road.. cars started to swish and slam the brakes. Including mine!

So when we arrived, we bought the PC. The guy had to configure some stuff, which took about 2 hours. So what to do? ronda around.. look for any nice things..

Then we ate.. Proper food this time! No more donuts for me.. I needed savoury!

After eating.. it was pretty much 10 o'clock. Closing time for everything. PC not done yet, so me and my sis went walking around Harvey Normans Furniture Dept. Pretty interesting stuff. But phewh.. I'm still not cut out for this stuff.. so what happened?

Soon after, the comps done. We pack up and go. And the day ends.. with a big wound to my mom's wallet xD

Cheerio!

My Three Firsts

What the firsts are?

My first time working.
My first time walking around KL.
My first time to a concert, sort of.

It all started, when a dear friend of mine, who goes by JoBen, text'd me at exactly 11.03pm, on the 6th of December. Back then I was still on vacation. The contents of the message was very direct. A friend of a friend needs some help. Work. For celcom at the My Chemical Romance concert. Promoter.

So I thought,
"Gee, why not? I need some cash anyway, and I've never did an honest days work in my life!"

So I agree. The day before the concert, our employer, Mr. Kiran rang me up. Said he needed 3 more people to work for him. So I ajak Pravin and Razlan along.

Thus, come Monday, Me, Sue Anne, Razlan, Pravin all hitched a ride with my dear daddy to Stadium Kuala Lumpur where the concert was to be held. We couldn't fit JoBen in with us because our car was just a myvi and with my daddy and us.. that was 5.

We arrived at the staidum entrance at 12.45. Mr. Kiran said to be there by 1.30pm so I didn't wanna be late for my first job. So yes, I was
early. WOW! I sure am changing my ways. Earning my own cash and being punctual! Too punctual actually. because we had about another hour and nothing to do. All of us were starving, so we trooped away in the direction of KLCC in search for something to eat.

As most of you would know.. I'm somewhat a strangely foreign bumiputra. It was my FIRST time to this part of KL. I didn't like one bit of it. The stench, the litter, the old unartistic architecturelywise buildings. All of these things worked together to build up two feelings within me. Disgust. Shame.

Personally I find it disgusting. And because I think it's disgusting, what would foreigners who visit
The Heart Of Malaysia think? Thus the shame.

So anyway, we passed by this China Town. Had no idea wher we were. My one and only trusty toursit guide Razlan, failed me. We were lost. So after aimlessly walking we found ourselves in a sort of busy street and junction. Opposite us was Mydin. It had Kenny Rogers' Roasters, and McDonald's. But from afar we could see McD was crowded and i baru makan keny g's yesterday.
So we scouted abit more found this iddle widdle lot. KFC. it was so small! My classroom was
bigger. The first floor of KFC was packed, but the upstairs wasn't. We chopped seats. Razlan just ate, so sue, me and prav went below to order. We waited in line till it was our turn to order.. and when it was my turn, the cashier lady actually said:

"
Yes, Good Morning miss, how I help you?"

I gave her a very wide grin, she apologized afterwards. I ordered a pepsi and cheezy wedges.. wasn't that hungry either. But Sue, wow.. a whole snack plate. We exchanged our food around somwhat.. nobody but me seemed to like cheezy wedges. But I took generous helpings of Pravin's mashed potatoes and coleslaw. In the end, Sue tak berjaya habis makan her chicken breast.

We received a phone call from JoBen after that. He just arrived. So it was time for us to get back to the stadium. It wasn't very far.. but still we had our share of fun on the way back. Plenty of guys checking Sue out.. then there was the part she almost got hit by a car. You know, she being under the perception that
guys would see her.

When we got back. We said hello to JoBen. Which the greeting wasn't returned. I'll excuse him, he was feeling down. SO anyway, it was 1.37p. Where the hell was Mr. Kiran? What kinda employer arrives after his employees?? I was curious. This Mr.Kiran seemed fishy. He said he was a celcom agent. But celcom was already there. Shouldn't he be here already with his company?

So while waiting for our late boss, we decide to find a nice place to laze around first. I founda great spot. A super comfy patch of grass under a big tree. And thank god the day was mendung and breezy.

We practically just lazed around. for about the next hour. Cuz he was REALLY late. So we decided to take pickies!

So after much pics taken, we get a call and finally Mr. Kiran sampai. He, being the the kinda guy he is, kept calling SueAnne, "Susan".So se asksus to follow him. So we do. We trek away from the stadium. So then after a few meters, we reach this place... a little island of sidewalk in the middle of 3 roads. And we see Mr. Kiran's car.

Plunk.

The truth hit me like a stone dropped on my head.

There is no way in the world this guy with this shabby car is affiliated with celcom! He soon unpacks his car trunk and asks us to set up shop. Took us a few minutes. And this was it.

Our Pathetic Stall

What a let down. But one shouldn't cry over spilled milk. There wasn't even a payung! We asked Mr. Kiran what wud happen if it rained.. he said. "Just pack everything up" Wow senang hatinya cakap! So anyway, there was another group working under our fraud of a boss Mr. Kiran.A bunch of girls. So we had some competition. Not wanting to lose, we immediately assigned each other to separate tasks. The stuff we were to sell were:

  1. RM40 MCR shirts.
  2. RM10 MCR tags
  3. RM5 MCR tags.
  4. RM 10 bubble glowsticks
  5. RM 10 Colour Glowsticks
  6. RM0 Raincoats

Me & Sue: Promote merchandise to pedestrians.
JoBen, Razlan & Pravin: Man the stall

We had our thrills and spills, being the juvenile entrepreneurs we were, we had no idea how to make people buy our stuff, plus the fact that EVERY other stall was selling the SAME stuff. So me and sue had to walk around and just offer it to people.

Strangely enough, me and SueAnne were dressed alike!

And let's face it, its NOT easy. I know none of you can't deny that whenever there was a promoter passing leaflets or brochures around you just ignored them. It was so hard taking all that rejection in one day :'(

Surprisingly though, the rempits were polite and bought quite alot and when they didn't buy they still smiled. The Chinese moms were very snobbish they would sometimes just say like NO in your face. Even worse if they just walk right by you as if you were part of the sidewalk! On the other hand Indian moms were VERY nice and friendly. Indian teenagers, not so... Foreigners, they were the worst kind of customers. Bitch about you in your face as if you can't understand them.. grrr.. *fists clench*

And that wasn't all. There was this very rude caucasian guy who told us to Fuck Off because we didn't have a license to sell mcr merchandise and HE did. But after awhile, we roamed far and wide tryna sell stuff. Sue naturally doing better with the guys and me for some reason doing good with families and couples. Soon after we saw that caucasian man walking around, with a disappointed look on his face. Hehehh.. if one thing he should've known.. was this; This is Malaysia! people don't care if its fake! As long as the quality's good and it's cheap Malaysians just buy them!

While trying real hard, a ray of hope appeared.. Kisu! she and her friend, being acquaintances of us, of course bought stuff from us! yippie! On top of that, I even managed to persuade her to buy one tag for her friend who didn't get to come to the concert!

Gosh, I think in all my life, that day was the day I saw so much mascara and eyeshadow and black nail polish and black lipstick! I mean, if our store actually sold black makeup instead
glowsticks they mesti untung lumayan! I mean, at that moment.. i was so proud of my own mom. Seeing a some old ladies who were actually obviously 40 something.. wearing gothic and being all emo with make up as thick as the earth's crust dressed up for a concert was absolutely revolting.

So while we were away, the rest of them were manning the stall. But wow, after the first few sales, confidence just started swelling in me, and people soon started coming to me like vultures to a carcass! Soon my stock of 5 buck tags were depleted, so I went to restock. Here's what razlan and jo were doing when i got back.

Good Job scaring the customers Raz!

So a few hours go by, then we shift change. So now I man the stall. There was this girl, real rich, she just walked up, asked for 2 tags, and bought a shirt. no discounts asked. Pfft.. before she left sue anne actually said to her "I think you're very pretty" and in truth she totally thought the opposite! Sigh.. if only all the customers were like her.

While I was looking around for a possible wealthy target I heard a voice coming from the right saying

"Hoy! Aza, you working is it??"
it was
Wee Lee! from RM band in his greenish blue-ish Wira with the windows down.

I said:
"Yeah! My first time!"

He nodded then drove away, couldn't say much, well hee was driving. Wouldn't wanna cause a traffic jam now.

So while we were here, someone else of course had to be out there to promote the tags. So we sent in the Heavy Brigade. Yeah, it's real dangerous for unknowing customers now! When this guy comes and asks u to buy, you buy! if not.. oho.. you're in for it. Persistence is his middle name.. you know who I'm talkin' about doncha?

"Hey, I know I'm selling crap but the least you could do was say no thank you!"

We met a few famous people there in the crowd. Like Nita from Malaysian Idol, and the cast of KAMI. Sue even got Nita to buy tags from her. She held the 10 ringgit note dear.. that is.. until she had to giv it away as change! Then it started to drizzle abit... and guess what? the supposedly FREE raincoats.. we sold to this desperate father of 3 for 10 bucks each! thats like 30 bucks untung bersih!

While I was following Pravin about, he bumped into some of his interact mates. So seeing a business opportunity, I terus serang! Interact people, somehow, all share something in common, somehow they have the same style, and have no problem talking to people like me, someone off the streets as if they were talking to an old friend!

Soon after, the concert started. People rush into the stadium. And you know what? since We were working for a fraud boss, with NO affiliation with Celcom whatsoever.. of course there was no chance for us to go in. But say I snuck in.. would you believe me??

Inside, thats the performance stage.

So anyway, the show took a really long time to start.. alotta crappy pre-mcr stuff. Now what's to be done with no customers...? we rest, eat, talk. And later our darn boss came with a new set of tags! after ALL that selling.. MORE?! We sold the previous batch sampai habis! and now thers 100 more to be sold! Then our boss senang-senang ask us to pack up and move to another location yang lagi "panas". At this new location, there was a huge poster, and with no customers, what else to do.. but the all famous pickies time !

A shot of JoBen and SueAnne

The four of us! (Where're you lookin' raz???)
.
Later the rest of us just joined with Fina, one of the girls working with us

After that the concert habis. We could tell cuz the music ended. So we started selling more. yada yada yada. When everyone balik.. about 11 0'clock. We finally closed shop. Our total??

RM1,771

Woo! that's a hell lotta money! but then.. datang our boss.. and he started doing HIS math and he deducted...

RM1,541

Which equals to..

RM230

Split equaly into 5.

RM 46?!

Later Sue Anne found 10 bucks in her pocket. And she split that too. so we all had RM 48 at the end of that 9 hours of work.

Bottom Line:
If you're working for money
NOT WORTH IT

But!
If you're working for experience
Tiring, Crestfalling, But on the whole, Fun!

So I had fun, it's not everyday you sell stuff around. It even felt kinda
Amazing Race-ish in a road block.

So after that we just waited at the bus stop, for JoBen's brother.

This' what 9 hours of nonstop work did to us.

When JoBen's bro came, we squeezed into the savvy like sardines in a tin. Jo got the front seat.. so he was safe! But Sueanne and me had to be sandwhiched by Pravin and Razlan!

We
spilled out of the car in front of ehsan for some midnight dinner. I couldn't even feel my left leg .

During dinner, JoBen asked us this question, which I cant even say the genius of it!

There was once a girl,
her mom just died.
There was a funeral held for her mother.

At the funeral,
she made eye-contact with this guy.
He was in the visitors side while she was at the family's side.
They both knew it was love at first site.

Two weeks after that day,
the girl's sister dies.

Why?

So you guys try and answer that! so anyway, after that we hitched a ride home from Sue's daddy and went home, tired, spent, slave labourly paid. And if i Ever hear the word Tag in the same sentence as the word Buy... I'm gonna freak! It's TABOO!

But hey,
It's better to be tired but happy,
Than full of energy yet sad!
